A highlight for me each year is the Emergent Gathering. This year it is October 2-5.
We meet in Santa Fe New Mexico for an event built around people.
The event is super cheap- $75 including food (travel and housing are additional but still very reasonable) and super relational.
All participants are called to create the event in ways that make sense for them - that can mean presenting a conversation, creating an experience, making a meal or whatever.
There is a lot of talk about "user-created content" and "open-source systems" in the world today. Well the Gathering has been doing this for half a decade.
If you have any interest in this blog or the ideas from this blog, or the people on the is blog this is the ideal event for you.
Registration here. You make your own housing reservation after registration. There are hotel, camping, and apartment options.
By the way, even thought Shelley and I don't bring our kids many people do and it is a welcoming environment for kids.

The kid's doing yoga stretches and body prayer with Doug and Shelley by the lake, I think.

One Question. Where's the kid? Why push a stroller with no kid?
